ABOUT ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMPANIES

Association management companies, or AMCs, are for-profit businesses that manage associations to help them grow and prosper. They offer the expertise, staffing and resources that allow professional societies, trade groups, not-for-profits and philanthropic organizations to effectively manage day-to-day operations and advance their long-term goals. AMCs deliver high levels of expertise and accountability so that associations can continue to increase their value and relevance to members.

AMCs provide their clients with unparalleled flexibility, agility and financial advantages, which makes the AMC model a good alternative for managing many nonprofit organizations.

    Session Details:

    Foresight as a Leadership Competency

As a leader in your association, you are expected to make decisions that affect the long-term health of your association. Leaders are better prepared for an uncertain future when they embrace foresight. Foresight is the practice of continually scanning for developing trends and considering how they will impact your organization’s mission and operations. Having this forward-looking mindset, you transition from a reactive position to one that is proactive and transformational.

    Topics to be covered:

    1. Introduction to the basic elements of foresight

    2. Clarity on why it is important for leaders to practice foresight

    3. Introduction to ASAE ForesightWorks Research

    4. An opportunity to engage in an Analysis Session

    5. Discussion on opportunities to integrate foresight throughout your association
